![]() ![]() I’m pretty sure he said they use every kind of measuring equipment, Trackman, GCquad, and Shot Tracer. One of the neat things he showed us was the robot room where they test new balls and clubs. He showed us the tour build shop where ultimately all of ours were built. When he was talking to us we were right in front of this “garage” and it had a bunch of iron sets marked “tour spec” which was really cool to see. Finley gave us the grand tour of the layout. ![]() Upon arrival, of course we were all blown away of actually finally being there. I and a group of friends were heading out to get fit by the best of the best for a new bag of gear and learn about Callaway Performance gear. ‘Twas a day like every other….except it wasn’t. So with that being said this is a THANK YOU to all of you who trusted me to lead this team!!! As the days grew closer the anticipation grew to Day 0, which in my mind is a staple that next year's team must make happen. There were Happy Hour zoom calls, late night texts, and everything else and in between. What hit me was that I had 14 new brothers who were willing to stand by me and THP and that meant a lot. The past year has been tough for me in various aspects of life, but I won't go into that here. ![]() However as the time passed by it was evident these guys were vested in living and experiencing the Grandaddy to the fullest. Did they make me loose my mind at times.maybe. This group of guys, I will talk about each in a different post, were unique in their own way. Our vision for this team and the 10th year were exactly the same.SHOW GRATITUDE and BRING IT TO THP! As the team filled out over the next 8 months I think we did just that. The first person to reach out to me was my AssCap. Exciting? Beyond anything I could fathom. Was I doing it right? Would this idea not go right? Who was going to be the next teammate? How could I ensure The Grandaddy came back? Stressful? Maybe. The funny thing about it my mind was on The Grandaddy for each one of those days. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would have the opportunity to be a part of something so live changing, but as I sit here typing this today means I did.ġ1 months and 330 days felt like a long time. To take random THPer's and form a cohesive, tight team. It is your goal from the start to make sure another group of THPer's has the opportunity to experience it. A lot is laid on a Captain's shoulder and the stakes are even higher for The Grandaddy. To be voted on by so many of you to be Captain blew my mind. First to be nominated by members of THP was extremely humbling. My journey/selection to the Grandaddy was different than Captain's of the past. To experience what we did, should not happen to average Joe's, but somehow you continue to do just that.Provide the unreal! So Thank You!!! Secondly and most importantly & Callaway for continuing to support and promote The Grandaddy. I have to thank & for creating this outlet for the lunatic fringe to discuss golf and so much more. Honestly I don't know where to begin outside of thanking the entire THP Community. I like the small snippets that is doing so I will go that route.
